Medium Format with Michael Clark and Hasselblad

Explore Medium Format with Michael Clark and Hasselblad

Thursday, September 21, 6-8pm

Tipton Hall, SFUAD

1600 St. Michaels Drive, Santa Fe

Join us for presentations from Santa Fe based Adventure Photographer Michael Clark and Gregory King, Regional Sales Manager with Hasselblad.

According to Michael Clark, "In the last few years I have integrated medium format digital into my standard workflow. My camera of choice, the Hasselblad H5D, has allowed me to capture a wide range of subjects with incredible image quality. While the camera is heavier and slower than a typical 35mm DSLR, it allows you to really craft the image in a way that just isn’t possible with a smaller format DSLR. I use the Hasselblad when I want the ultimate image quality and can slow down to craft the image carefully, which means I shoot most of my portraits, landscapes and a fair bit of action images with the Hasselblad. There are a plethora of reasons I opted for medium format digital capture, but the biggest reasons are the 16-bit image quality, the ability to sync with flash at all shutter speeds, and the way the camera forces you to concentrate on the image and get back to basics. It also helps that the lenses are crazy sharp from corner to corner. The Hasselblad has been rock solid so far, and I love working with it. Once you look through the huge viewfinder it is hard to go back to anything smaller."

Gregory King will bring a range of gear for the audience to demo, and give a presentation on the history and a run down of the current line of Hasselblad cameras.  He will also have specifically the H6D-100c 100mp camera, the M600 Pro drone and the mirrorless X1D system to show during the event.
